Neck Lift Surgery – Instantly Resolves Problems of Sagging, Loose Neck

Suffering from sagging, loose neck is now a thing of the past, thanks to neck lift surgery or medically known as Platysmaplasty. This common health problem is caused by the weakening of the ‘platysma’ muscle on the neck.  This same muscle will be modified and tightened by a reliable surgeon during a neck lift procedure.  This neck rejuvenation or contouring technology aims in getting rid of those flabby skins on the neck and under the jaw line which already lost its elasticity due to old age.

A neck lift surgery will take about 2-3 hours to get done. You can choose what kind of anesthesia you’ll be having. Majority of patients normally opt for a general anesthesia while others favor having local anesthesia with I.V. sedation. The skin only lift procedure requires two incisions beneath the ear wherein pieces of skin are cut and lifted into place and stitched or fixed using tissue glue. On the other hand, platysmaplasty which involve both the skin and muscles is done through a small incision below the chin and at the back of the ear, then part of fat muscles is removed and the ends are stitched to join them at the front part of the neck. The skin may be joined below or beneath the ear to make the neck appear more firmed up.

The neck is known to be a prominent body part where the early signs of aging are often visible.  Unless you do something about it, for example getting a neck lift procedure, those sagging skin will stay and may cause physical or emotional issues in the long run. Most of the time, a neck lift surgery is done together with facial lift or liposuction to give patients a much more youthful appearance.
